CD: Ib Nørholm Tavole per Orfeo
For Ib Nørholm’s Tavole per Orfeo – songs for soprano and guitar – I chose to illustrate a central image from Poul Borum’s text from the work Tablets for Orpheus describing the flow of Eurydice’s blood through the grass. (She has stepped on a venomous snake and dies.)
The text reads (excuse my translation) ”When the blood over the grass runs / like a tiny little river / through the grass runs the blood / when the wind is white / Stars by day shine and are / like a tiny little river / the blood over the grass / through the grass runs / the wind is white / is when is”
