Young Danish jazz harmonica super-talent Mathias Heise presents a series of original compositions arranged for the Danish Radio Big Band. According to Mathias, the album is called “The Beast” because the incredible power of the big band has to be tamed. This album was nominated for the Danish Music Awards Jazz 2019 in the category "Best Danish Jazz Album".

The album cover is based on a found image of exploding paint that reflects the energy and colour of the works.
